Miqat refers to the designated places where pilgrims intending to perform Hajj or Umrah must don their Ihram (the sacred state of purity and intention) and make the intention to perform the pilgrimage. These locations are set boundaries around Mecca and vary depending on the direction from which the pilgrim is traveling. The main Miqat points are:
Dhul-Hulayfah (Abyar Ali)
For those coming from the direction of Medina.
Juhfah
For those coming from the direction of the Levant (Syria, Jordan, Palestine, and Lebanon) and Egypt.
Qarn al-Manazil
For those coming from the direction of Najd and Taif.
